MU Sustainability Department gives 'green' a new meaning

For this package, I wanted to highlight the ongoing sustainability efforts happening right here on Marshall’s campus. I spent time with Amy White, the head of the Sustainability Department, to learn more about the university’s expanding composting initiative and the work being done behind the scenes to reduce waste. White walked me through how food scraps from campus dining are collected, processed, and transformed into nutrient-rich compost that ultimately supports Marshall’s green spaces and community garden projects.
